The 10 luxurious apartments in the restored 17th-century stable block and coach house feature stylish and contemporary interiors which take inspiration from the building's heritage.

Once home to the thoroughbred racehorse Marske which sired the legendary undefeated 18th century racehorse Eclipse, the apartments are named after Eclipse's famous descendants which include Desert Orchid, Red Rum, Frankel and Northern Dancer. Eclipse is believed to be in the bloodline of 98 per cent of all thoroughbreds.

Marske Stables is the first phase in the development of the Marske Hall Country Estate which includes the Grade II-listed Marske Hall. The estate, which is set in 19-acres of grounds, is located near Richmond in North Yorkshire close to the half-way point of the Coast-to-Coast walking route.

Developer Ian Morton is behind the £5.5 million investment in the Marske Hall Country Estate, which included the opening of Marske Stables in 2021

"Having been in property for over 40 years, finding the right insurance company was very important to us and we’ve found them! The team are brilliant to work with, are very thorough, explain things in layman’s terms and in an uncomplicated way. Definitely use them if you can!"

"The apartments have proved really popular with visitors, with an average of 80 per cent occupancy and repeat business. The Yorkshire Dales are such a beautiful area and people love visiting here from all over the UK. Once they have discovered this corner of the world, they are keen to visit again."

As part of the development at Marske Hall, the old mill is being converted into two properties, Farriers Cottage and Woodcutters Cottage, which are due to come on to the market for sale in early 2023.

The Hall itself is currently being converted into three luxurious penthouse suites and seven other Heritage apartments and country cottages, with further plans to transform the principal rooms which include original Georgian features. These are expected to be offered for sale in Spring 2023.

Marske Stables, which includes one, two and three bedroom apartments, works with specialist providers to offer walking, adventure, wellness and cookery experiences for guests staying in the self-catering accommodation.

Ian has more than 40 years' experience in the property sector and has refurbished hundreds of sites including over 30 listed buildings. He also runs the Heritage Apartment Collection with his business partner James Waite which includes self-catering accommodation across the North of England.

"Luke Conn-Goodman at H&H Insurance Brokers is brilliant to work with. He is thorough and really knows his stuff, and was able to explain to us exactly what would be required from our policy in a straight-forward and uncomplicated way."
