The traditional May day bank holiday was moved this year to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. Obviously amidst the Coronavirus lockdown these celebrations have been somewhat curtailed. However, we understand a few will still make the most of it, cakes will be baked and memories and stories told! The Queen will send a message at 9.00pm on BBC1 (same time as her father George VI gave the radio address from Buckingham Palace three quarters of a century ago marking Victory in Europe). Earlier at 3.00pm in the afternoon, we will join in a toast to the heroes of the Second World War so we hope you will join us with the words:
“For those that gave so much, we thank you”
We would like to wish you a safe and restful bank holiday weekend and to advise that on Friday 8th May our ‘offices’ will be closed as our colleagues spend time with their family and loved ones. We will reopen on Monday 11th May at 9.00 am
Enjoy the sunshine, laugh heartily and stay safe.
