Mary brings a wealth of connections and business expertise to her new role at H&H Insurance Brokers as an trainee Account Executive, specialising in commercial insurance. She joins HHIB from Cumbria Chamber of Commerce where she was a Business Development Executive, supporting firms across the county.
While training to qualify with the Chartered Insurance Institute, Mary will work as a Business Development Manager at HHIB, building new client relationships and using her experience to support the growth of the business.
Mary said: “I’m all about people which is what drew me to the role at H&H Insurance Brokers. Throughout my career, I have continually worked towards building my skills and expertise through new challenges and I’m really excited about the opportunity to use my experience as part of the HHIB team.”
Mary has built a strong career in sales, marketing and business consultancy including running her own PR, sales and marketing agency, and establishing Showcase Cumbria, a community platform and website showcasing the county.
Her work on Showcase Cumbria has led to nomination in the 2024 Northern Power Women Awards in the Person with Purpose category. Mary was also a finalist in the 2022 BECBC Awards in the Rising Star category, and a nominee in the 2024 Cumbria Women of the Year Awards.
Originally from Carlisle, Mary grew up with her mother and siblings, whom she helped raise. She lives in the city with her husband John and their 14-year-old daughter, 11 year-old son and the family’s Border Terrier Bruno. Mary works with and volunteers for charities supporting people with autism, a condition which affects her son.
