How can we help?

Glamping and Caravanning Site Insurance

As demand for UK staycations, glamping holidays and countryside escapes continues to grow, more travellers are choosing unique outdoor accommodation experiences - from luxury glamping pods, safari tents and yurts to family-friendly caravan parks and traditional camping sites. Whether you operate a small rural glamping retreat or a large holiday park, having comprehensive glamping and caravanning site insurance is essential to protect your business, your guests, your buildings and your income.  We'll provide tailored insurance solutions for glamping sites, campsites, caravan parks and holiday accommodation businesses across the UK, helping you stay protected against everyday risks so you can focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Specialist Insurance for Glamping, Camping & Caravan Sites

At H&H Insurance Brokers, we provide specialist insurance for glamping sites, campsites, caravan parks and holiday parks across the UK. With the continued growth of staycations, outdoor holidays and luxury glamping accommodation, it’s more important than ever for site owners to have reliable, comprehensive insurance protection tailored to the unique risks of the tourism and hospitality sector. As experienced rural and leisure insurance specialists, we understand the day-to-day challenges involved in running successful glamping and caravanning businesses, from guest safety and property protection to seasonal demand and operational risks.

Our tailored glamping site insurance and caravan park insurance policies can include essential covers such as public liability insurance, helping protect your business if a guest suffers injury or property damage while visiting your site. For businesses employing staff, employer’s liability insurance provides vital protection against workplace injury or illness claims and helps ensure legal compliance.

For site owners offering food, drink or retail products, product liability insurance can provide additional peace of mind. We can also help protect your physical assets through material damage insurance, covering glamping pods, shepherd huts, safari tents, static caravans, shower facilities, toilet blocks, reception areas, cafés, play parks and communal buildings against risks such as fire, flooding, storm damage, vandalism and theft.

Unexpected disruption can have a major financial impact on tourism businesses, particularly during peak holiday periods. Business interruption insurance can help protect your income if your site is temporarily unable to operate following an insured event, helping your business recover more quickly and minimise financial loss.

Many modern glamping and camping sites now offer premium guest facilities and outdoor activities, which may require additional protection. Depending on your business, cover options may be available for hot tubs, leisure facilities, EV charging points, cycle hire, paddleboards, kayaks, events, wedding venues and other on-site attractions that enhance the guest experience and support additional revenue streams.

With almost 40 years of experience supporting rural, leisure and hospitality businesses, H&H Insurance Brokers offers expert guidance, dedicated account management and access to leading UK insurers specialising in tourism, leisure and holiday park insurance. We pride ourselves on delivering straightforward advice, responsive claims support and tailored insurance solutions designed around your business.

Whether you run a boutique glamping retreat, family campsite, touring caravan park or luxury holiday park, our experienced team can help you arrange the right insurance cover so you can focus on welcoming guests and growing your business with confidence.

Specific insurance for a glamping pod business

You'll require public liability insurance in case guests injure themselves at your venue and seek compensation; public liability insurance will cover the legal costs around defending a claim. It will also cover damages you may need to pay to the injured party

Understanding the 28 day campsite rule

Under permitted development rights, planning law across the UK already allows for the temporary use of land for any purpose for up to 28 days in a calendar year without the need to make an application for planning permission

Business interruption cover for campsites

Will cover you for loss of income during periods when you cannot carry out business as usual due to an unexpected event. Business interruption insurance aims to put your business back in the same trading position it was in before the event occurred.

Material damage insurance for my business

Material damage cover insures a business owner against loss or damage to physical assets including buildings, contents, plant and equipment, fitout and stock. 'Stock' is anything that moves through your business, while 'plant' is anything you use to run your business

FAQ's
1. What insurance do you need for a glamping site?

Employers Liability Insurance is a legal requirement for any business that has an employee or even a labour-only subcontractor, you’ll also need Public Liability for the site so that if anyone on site holds you responsible for injury or damage to their property that you have cover to protect against this. An important thing to remember is your limit of indemnity here. If you’re likely to have children on the site, making sure this limit is appropriate is important.

You’ll also need to think about any buildings/pods on the site or facilities as these will need to be insured also. Glamping often has many novelty elements to them such as hot tubs or hired out equipment such as bikes or Segways and it’s important the insurer know about all of these elements as if they don’t know it likely isn’t covered. Never assume cover under any circumstances. Each Glamping site is unique so it’s important to work with a Broker who can understand your risk and get the right information in order to get the correct cover.

2. What does campsite insurance need to cover?

Much like Glamping, typical campsites will require insurance to cover any buildings, caravans or facility buildings as well as the usual Liability insurance requirements.

3. Is public liability essential for my glamping site insurance policy?

Public Liability is essential to virtually all businesses including Glamping sites. If there is a risk that a member of the public could hold you responsible for injury or damage to their property then you need Public Liability. A Glamping/Campsite location should definitely have Public Liability insurance.
