David, who grew up on his family’s farm in Stranraer, is well known in the region as a committee member at Stranraer Show, a former member of Stranraer & District Young Farmers’ Club and a member of Leswalt Curling Club for the past 30 years.
David spent more than 15 years working in the public sector before returning to his agricultural roots in 2018 to work in insurance, specialising in rural and farming business.
He has been appointed to work alongside experienced account executive Edith Jones, and will combine his knowledge and understanding of the local area with expert advice and guidance to help businesses in the region find the right insurance policies.
David, who now lives near Stranraer, said: “My family has used H&H Group for its farming business and when an opportunity arose to join a company which I know personally does such great work, I couldn’t turn it down.
“By increasing its presence in south west Scotland, HHIB is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the area. Our ambition is to find the best possible insurance packages for clients and to ensure they receive good value and service from their broker.
“Using my local contacts and knowledge of the area, I really want to build on the excellent work carried out by my colleague Edith Jones in the area and to make sure more local people can benefit from our services.”
HHIB offers independent advice on all aspects of rural and business insurance, and operates across the North of England, the South of Scotland and Wales.
