H&H Insurance Brokers Opens Doors in Scotland

A leading insurance broker opens dedicated office in Newtown St Boswells to deliver services throughout the Scottish Borders

One of the UK’s largest independent, rural insurance Brokers, H&H Insurance Brokers (HHIB), has announced the opening of their first Scottish office, in Newtown St Boswells Roxburghshire.
Based within St. Boswell’s auction mart, this expansion has come as a direct result of their business and geographical growth, both in the agricultural and rural sectors across the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland.

HHIB is part of the H&H Group Plc, which has a proud and long established heritage in agriculture dating back to 1877. The launch of this new office demonstrates HHIB’s commitment to its customers, and further strengthens their position within the insurance industry. The St Boswells office will be headed up by Gemma Rawlinson, HHIB’s Scottish Borders & North Area Executive, who will be supported by Sales Manager, Philip Pagin, and full time Account Handler, Suzanne Whittaker.

HHIB are commercial insurance brokers that specialise in the agricultural and rural sector, offering a range of policies from a panel of leading insurers that provide extensive cover to protect both businesses and individuals. H&H provide cover to farm and estates for property, liability, business interruption and legal protection, in addition to individual farm vehicles and motor fleets. The company also has a dedicated pedigree livestock product called in-Livestock.

On announcing details of the business expansion, John Noone, Managing Director of H&H Insurance Brokers said:
“The opening of our St Boswells office is a key milestone for HHIB and for our extensive base of customers. Insurance is after all a people business and at H&H we pride ourselves on giving both a personal and professional service whether that’s at the initial enquiry stage, during the policy term, renewal or in the event of a claim. By having a dedicated Scottish Borders office we are ensuring that our support is readily and easily accessible, although of course, we will still visit our clients on their farm.”
Having worked in rural, agricultural and commercial insurances across the Borders for a decade, Gemma has extensive industry knowledge and an excellent understanding of its needs. Together with her team, Gemma’s aim is to provide a personal and broad range of services to farmers, and agricultural and commercial businesses, with the very highest levels of customer service.

“With sales held at least twice a week, St Boswells auction mart is the perfect platform to provide an extensive centre for the needs of all rural businesses, and this includes insurance. On livestock sale days we will be holding regular drop-in sessions to carry out insurance reviews to ensure that people have the correct and appropriate insurance cover in place for the needs of their individual business.

“We work very closely with insurers and loss adjusters to ensure that claims are managed promptly and efficiently.”
With their roots set firmly in rural insurance, and with a strong and expanding base of customers across the commercial sector, HHIB are one of only 170 companies in the UK to have been awarded Chartered Insurance Broker Status – the highest accolade in the insurance industry. With offices in Carlisle, Durham, North Wales and now St Boswells they are increasingly developing the areas in which they operate.
